This beautiful water well is situated right next to the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, yet it is often overlooked by tourists. The Gothic iron work for the well dates to 1490 and was crafted by Quinten Matsijs, who is better known as a Master Painter and founder of the Antwerp School. The story goes that when the young Matsijs first came to Antwerp as a blacksmith, he fell in love with Catherina Heyns, the daughter of a fine arts painter. However, her father was of the opinion that a smith was beneath the standing of his daughter. Matsijs therefore retrained as a painter (eventually becoming one of the best known painters of his day) and thus won approval to marry Catherina. The Neo-Gothic well itself, made by the city’s master builder Gustave Royers in 1900, bears reference to this tale. The inscription reads: “The iron work for this well was wrought by Quinten Matsijs. The MK 235 cassette recorder (sometimes referred to as “ZRK MK 235” or “MK 235 Automatic”) was manufactured in 1976-1978. The portable cassette recorder, positioned on the boundary of popular and standard product classes, was designed to record sound and play back recordings. Its design was based on the licensed C-235 model by Grundig. It incorporated transistors and an integrated circuit. The MK 235 is powered from an AC source or batteries (five R14 type batteries). Operation time using batteries is about 14 hours. The tape recorder is designed to play cassettes at a tape speed of 4.75 cm/s. The aesthetics of the device are minimalistic, dominated by the geometry of its overall shape. It have really iconic look similar to FAMAS but its not super popular/used. As for model it self, its actually model that I made about 2 years ago, but I had to modify it a bit and create new textures due to previous project that it was part of.
