Five tetrahedrons conjoined into a dodecahedral shape casted into a sphere. It was wireframed while keeping the original object, giving it an exoskeletal look, and then subdivided into a smooth shape, the result is a sphere with organic dodecahedral star-like shapes pattern. Some props I made for a landscape I made. I’ve noticed that in a lot of “candy” themed environments/scenes the foliage, especially trees look unnatural. Developed as part of assginment that required to create a scene using modular assets.
The concept is largely a mock-up of a mini-golf game with pinball elements. To add onto the appeal of these pasttimes, a retro flavor inspired by Nitrome games and Sonic is heavily incoporated into the visual design of the scene, whilst keeping a stylised detailed look to it, which takes cues from Super Mario Odyssey and Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

This is my scene for the Howest DAE diorama assignment.
Before starting my studies at DAE I went on a summer trip to Norway and found the nature there, and in particular the forests, to be very inspiring. I tried to capture some of that experience in the foliage and landscaping of the garden. My main goal for this scene was to make it feel like a believable whole while still keeping a strong overall composition. I really tried to push myself on this one so any feedback will always be appreciated.
I did my best to convey the forest loner’s story of why he lives where he does. He may be an art thief but I didn’t want to commit any actual art theft myself, so the paintings are just some photographs, mostly from Norway.
