This statue group was found in 1506 on the Esquiline Hill in Rome and immediately identified as the Laocoön described by Pliny the Elder as a masterpiece of the sculptors of Rhodes. Such an important sculpture could not escape the notice of Pope Julius II (1503-1513) who bought it immediately and had it displayed in the Statues Courtyard (Cortile delle Statue), making it the centrepiece of the collection. And with it, my first year here, in Sketchfab. A long path that actually has passed so fast to me.
Since that day that I decided to create my portfolio online, I´ve improved my modeling skills in someway, I suppose.
Proof of that is my first appearance in a videogame credits as Environment & Asset Artist.
And the result of all these feelings, is this tribute to my all time favourite surreal Artist.
In an attempt to traslate the magic of the oniric world that René Magritte created in 1936,
I´m so proud with the result, trying to go beyond the canvas…

Pre-Columbian Maya bat god sculpture curated in the Museo Popol Vuh in Guatemala City- Catalogue no. 2005-0032. This sculpture dates to the Late Preclassic and could likely originates from the Copan area of Honduras, bordering Guatemala. The monument is tenoned and could have been used as ornamentation on a structure. The glyphic text on the head and back of the piece relate to the monument’s dedication and ownership. Bats were an important motif depicted in Maya art and glyphic text, and depending on the context, possibly represented a harbinger of death, sacrifice, or the underworld, and often shown representing a particular cultural group.
Part of a 3D digitization initiative with the Popol Vuh Museum in Guatemala City, and in collaboration with Camilo Luin, Curator, the Digital Heritage and Humanities Center at the University of South Florida Libraries,has partnered to document important sculpture and artifacts. The medieval chess pieces from the Scottish island of Lewis are among our most popular collections. They give us fascinating insights into the international connections of western Scotland and the growing popularity of chess in medieval Europe.
The eleven chess pieces on display in the Museum of Scotland were part of a large hoard buried on Lewis. The hoard contained 93 gaming pieces in total, including at least four chess sets as well as pieces from other games. The chess pieces were probably made in the late 12th or early 13th century in Norway.

Death troopers were an elite variant of the Galactic Empire’s stormtroopers specializing in stealth, espionage, and lethality. Operating under Imperial Intelligence, they served as a protective detachment for important Imperial officers and members of the Tarkin Initiative, as well as special assignment commandos. They wore black body armor suits and specialized helmets with voice scramblers, micro-motion sensors and heads-up displays with data on enemy and friendly positions on the battlefield. Death troopers were trained in unarmed combat, heavy weapons, demolitions, improvised weapons, guerrilla warfare, and marksmanship. Experts to cover their tracks, the Death Troopers left little to no evidence of their missions. Identifiable by their distinctive black armour, Deathtroopers strike fear into the hearts of all who cross the Empire.
