Very happy with this one- a low poly pbr model of an A-wing, somewhere in between the Star Wars: Rebels and Return of the Jedi versions, complete with a low detail cockpit interior and pilot, and some of my best textures yet. The overall proportions and colorscheme are inspired by Rebels, but the engine tips, split nose and laser cannons are more like RotJ– really this design could go anywhere in the post-Clone Wars timeline. The glass material uses the same textures as the hull, so if you had a huge fleet and wanted to improve performance, you can apply the hull material to the whole thing to have opaque black shiny glass, and then you could delete the pilot too to save on his material. On the other hand, if you want to get fancier and add some refraction to the glass, the glass pieces are their own separate elements, so it is easy to select them and add a little bit of thickness with a shell/solidify modifier in your 3D software of choice. They give us fascinating insights into the international connections of western Scotland and the growing popularity of chess in medieval Europe. The eleven chess pieces on display in the Museum of Scotland were part of a large hoard buried on Lewis. It can easily be used in a game, an Arch Viz scene or animation. It was built to be versatile, so can be used as a art gallery, office, museum or modern home etc… Many of the Arch Viz style buildings (free or paid for) you can download online are made with sketchup or Revit, these are excellent tools, but when the models are exported they can be split into hundreds or thousands of pieces which is not always practical for a game engine. And whilst they can be joined together again, I created this modern building that is low poly, has 4 material slots, and easy to set up in a games engine. This motorcycle was scanned with both Eva and Space Spider. Eva allowed for fast and easy acquisition of the overall shape, while Space Spider was used to scan the intricate geometry of the wheels and the sides. We first sprayed the bike with anti-gloss spray. The seat and gas tank had no features, but we stuck a couple of pieces of masking tape to them and that was enough to ensure stable. We didn’t have to add an extra features to the parts we scanned with Space Spider since all of these mechanical parts had rich geometry. There were a lot of these parts though and the shapes were quite complex, consequently it took quite a long time to scan them all. One of the highlights of the scanning was the bike chain: due to its thin and repetitive shape, we expected it to be a challenging object, but Spider’s scanning depth was deep enough to capture the background behind it. Scanning time: Eva - 15 min. Space Spider - 1,5 hours Processing time: 30 minutes for Eva data only, 3,5 hours for both Eva and Spider data 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1042148 polygons.
