3D scan of a skull and mandible of the mosasaurid Platecarpus coryphaeus. He was an aquatic predator during the late Cretaceous, living about 81–85 million years ago. Mosasaurids are members of the order Squamata and are therefore relatives of lizards and snakes. Fossils of Platecarpus are found predominantly in North America, but were perhaps also occurring in Europe, Africa & New Zealand. This skull of Platecarpus coryphaeus will be on display in the upcoming exhibition “CineSaurs" that opens on October 19, 2021 at the NHM Vienna. A colorful Black Lives Matters mural on East Pine Street, Seattle, described by one onlooker as a “masterpiece”, was completed by anti-racism protesters on June 11, 2020.

The work was carried out by protesters in an area of the city they have occupied and dubbed the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). Police have left the area to the protesters, but were still responding to 911 calls there, and seeking to establish dialogue with the protest leaders, the Seattle Times said.
Local photographer Kyle Kotajarvi captured the completed mural using a drone before posting the footage on Twitter. In a thread accompanying the footage, he said, “A masterpiece was created in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone today.”

Old wooden cart from Georgia. In the Caucasus, such carts are called arba (araba in turkish-speaking countries). We found this arba while walking in Mtatsminda park in Tbilisi with @sv.stats who had noticed it. It was in the evening, so it got dark quickly and the shooting conditions were not very good but I decided to scan it anyway cause it was our last weekend in Tbilisi and there would have been no other opportunity.

Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh. The principal motif is a tonsured abbot standing dressed in a cowl; his halo indicates that he is a saint, standing with his abbot’s staff in his left hand and a buring torch as his emblem in his right. The staff, baculus was carried as the symbol of the pastoral duty.
There has been some despute to the identification to the person on the bench end, some say he cannot be identified while others have suggested the abbot to be St. Brendan, as his emblem in german documents is a burning torch, and St. brendan can be related back to Kirkjubø.
In the rounded top panel sits St. Olav enthroned. with a halo, crown, his long handed axe in his right and and the earth/orb in his left.
The small escutcheon above where the olique desk top would have been is the faroes coat of arms of the ram.
In the rounded upper top panel we find Erik of Pomerania’s Nordic Coat of Arms, the three crowns.
