Yet another rig of a variant of dragon I made in a span of 3 weeks. Though I very mostly made up the design as I went along (as usual) I had several insperations in which some may show more than others ranging from a VRex to the modern godzilla, to crocodiles to a handful of dragon art on the internet and etc. Would look even better if Sketchfab was able to process Blender bendy bones, but outside of Blender the tail, neck and wings will look like that (and if animation was my specialty). Was originally going to be a dark gray and somewhat similar and simpler patterns, but ended up with this instead. Didnt really establish any kind of lore n stuff as usual ,but I would imagine about this boi being a green fire breather that would result into toxic or venomous fumes and being extremely ferral. I wanted to do a chibi model of Asuka after working on the Mass Produced Evangelion character (also visible on my page!), and in the end I think she came out really cute! I like modeling cute things truthfully as well as figurative characters, so this project was definitely a lot of fun. It was once again a big learning experience though, as I really tried to work on things like facial topology, that anime-feeling style, and being painterly with my textures. I still have a long way to go of course, but this felt like a big milestone that I’m happy to have done! The previously unpublished inscription is one of the finest examples of seventh-century Maya caligraphy and contains rare variants of number 9 and TZ’AK. There are no personal names or place names. The text only states that the cup belonged to “the artisan of the eternal lord”. The Northern Saw-whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) is one of our smaller owls. It is a relatively common denizen of forested areas in the province, but is rarely seen because of its nocturnal habits. By day, it roosts silently amongst dense conifers, until it is discovered by other birds at which point a cacophony of mobbing calls may ensue to try to dislodge the predator. One can sometimes entice a pair of saw-whets to stay in the neighbourhood with a nest box. Small mammals, especially deer mice, beware, as you are the owl’s main prey.
