I created this model based on references from the actual movie props and some amazingly faithful replicas. The geometry is relatively light weight for use in game engines. The counter animation is geometry based, so it can be used dynamically and adressed by code. Complete with 4K PBR textures. My motivation for this piece came from rewatching the Aliens movies. I took this as an opportunity to learn Substance Painter and figure out how to bake maps for a more complex model like this. It’s also always interesting to learn a few things about design in general and about the object you’re researching in specific. When researching references it helped me to find out that parts of this design are based on real life rifles like the “M1A1 Thompson” and the “Spas 12” shotgun. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 7959 polygons.

Catnap is one of the characters from the game poppy playtime 3 description on Poppy Playtime Wiki: CatNap, otherwise known as Experiment 1188, is an upcoming major antagonist in Poppy Playtime, with his impending debut in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep leaving fans eager for his appearance. He was originally responsible for looking after the notorious Home Sweet Home, a Playcare facility that held child experiments captive. Experiment 1188 contained a non-lethal but potent version of Poppy Gas in its pulmonary. Prior to his creation, a prototype version of CatNap’s gas was tested, causing Marie Payne, who was in the vicinity, to cry out and suffer traumatic nightmares. During the creation of Experiment 1188, he went through two iterations before the final version was perfected. Following the rebellion of the victims of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, CatNap was locked away in Playcare. Hello everyone! This is Gray Fox, the mysterious cyborg ninja from Metal Gear Solid. He wears an exoskeleton and uses his Fox Blade to slice enemies. I mixed up a bit some references to make his cyborg suit, the original concept art from Shinkawa, the first suit from MGS1 and the armor from Metal Gear Rising. This is an old model I made some time ago. Recently I decided to work on it again and try to do some texture work. It was fun since it made me practice with the creation of specular and normal maps, so I think I learned a lot for future projects. Modeled in Maya, normal maps in Zbrush, texturing in Mudbox. I wanted to make a new hellenic thing, but then realised that this may be original Roman design - at least I found no evidence of greek origins of the design. It’s still doric though! This model is based on the sarcophagus of Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus (clearly a roman guy), and here is the fun fact - the inscription on the tablet was once redone, most likely by one of the relatives of Scipio.
