The Sinclair C5 is a 1985 small one-person battery electric recumbent tricycle invented by Sir Clive Sinclair (most known internationally as the creator of the ZX Spectrum in 1982). It received a less than enthusiastic reception from the British media. Its sales prospects were blighted by poor reviews and safety concerns expressed by consumer and motoring organisations. The vehicle’s limitations – a short range, a maximum speed of only 15 mph (24 km/h), a battery that ran down quickly and a lack of weatherproofing – made it impractical for most people’s needs. The C5 became known as “one of the great marketing bombs of postwar British industry” and a “notorious example of failure”.

The Ilyushin Il-2 Sturmovik is a ground-attack aircraft produced by the Soviet Union in large numbers during the Second World War. The Il-2 was never given an official name and ‘sturmovik’ is the generic Russian word meaning ground attack aircraft.
During the war, 36,183 units of the Il-2 were produced, and in combination with its successor, the Ilyushin Il-10, a total of 42,330 were built, making it the single most produced military aircraft design in aviation history, as well as one of the most produced piloted aircraft in history along with the American postwar civilian Cessna 172 and the Soviet Union’s own then-contemporary Polikarpov Po-2 Kukuruznik biplane.

The Huot Automatic Rifle is a Canadian light machine gun developed during World War I, based on the Ross Rifle, but using a gas-operated mechanism and a drum magazine to produce a portable select-fire light machine gun which would be cheaper to manufacture than the Lewis Gun. The Huot was developed from 1916 to 1918, undergoing many refinements during that time to increase reliability and reduce weight. Unfortunately, by the time it was ready for service, the war was over and the weapon was no longer needed, and the entire project was cancelled in the postwar years. Only four prototypes are known to still exist, numbered 1, 2, 4 and 5. It is unclear what happened to 3.
