The Grunwald Monument is an equestrian statue of King of Poland Władysław II Jagiełło (1352–1434) located at Matejko Square in Krakow’s Old Town and constructed in 1910 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald (1410). One month assignment. The goal was to make a next-gen character, ready to be implemented into a game. I really wanted to make a scifi character in his combat suit. I was inspired by Star Citizen, but Halo’s designs are really the best ones for this. For the process, at first I made the lowpoly model in Maya, then I went to Zbrush to subdivide it and put all the details needed with my own alphas. I baked the highpoly model in susbtance painter, and then I tried to make several smart materials to texture the whole character. I also did 2 different camos, because I needed a character that could fit in my upcoming space station project. I also rigged my character with my own auto-rig, therefore I was able to put it in several poses.
