I had to down res the maps significantly to get them to load however, and the Emission of the material seems to blur out the surface quite a bit. It took 16 scanning stations and 350 photos to create an informative cloud of facade points. Using the RTC360 laser scanner and the Phantom Advanced UAV, this stage was completed in 4 hours. • The second step was implemented by using Leica Cyclone and Capturing Reality software, which consisted of linking scan data in the local coordinate system. The next item was an automatic combination of an aligned cloud of dots and photos. This motorcycle was scanned with both Eva and Space Spider. Eva allowed for fast and easy acquisition of the overall shape, while Space Spider was used to scan the intricate geometry of the wheels and the sides. We first sprayed the bike with anti-gloss spray. The seat and gas tank had no features, but we stuck a couple of pieces of masking tape to them and that was enough to ensure stable. We didn’t have to add an extra features to the parts we scanned with Space Spider since all of these mechanical parts had rich geometry. There were a lot of these parts though and the shapes were quite complex, consequently it took quite a long time to scan them all. One of the highlights of the scanning was the bike chain: due to its thin and repetitive shape, we expected it to be a challenging object, but Spider’s scanning depth was deep enough to capture the background behind it. Scanning time: Eva - 15 min. So this was a cool project to work on, I like sculpting weird artsy stuff and I’ve been trying to learn Speedtree and trees are pretty boring to look at for hours at a time while you’re trying to figure out what all the buttons and sliders do. I also had to learn a whole new workflow for this but it is what it is. The concept was heavily inspired by ‘The Last Of Us’ in the beginning, I also wanted the body to be similar to my ‘Corpse Flower’ model since theyre both in a larger project together. Initially while I was figuring out Speedtree this model had blue leaves so I was going for that Willow tree vibe but it wasnt looking right. Then I got inspired by the art in ‘Diablo 4’ and scrapped the leaves and added more tiny branches and that kinda brought the whole Blood Tree thing together 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 197388 polygons.
