This is a bit of an experiment and still a work in progress. The Smithsonian has a mammoth skeleton for download, http://3d.si.edu/downloads/55 . Mammoths are, of course, relatives of African elephants. But they are more comparable with Indian elephants. Making a skeleton is a a lot of work and I wanted to see if I would be able to take an educated guess and turn the mammoth skeleton into an African (bush) elephant skeleton. I am still going to ask people who know to review it, but for now here it is. I will probably use this slot to upload the updated versions. Good old standard of analog video recording on tape cassettes… wait… no. Wrong VHS… VHS-2 is really weird Bullpup Assault Rifle from Croatia. It have really iconic look similar to FAMAS but its not super popular/used. As for model it self, its actually model that I made about 2 years ago, but I had to modify it a bit and create new textures due to previous project that it was part of. Its not super accurate but good enough, also I included two uppers for it… so its plus. Model is rigged, but there is also version with separated parts. Yazd is a historic city in the center of Iran, and a world UNESCO site. The city is iconic for its adobe houses and endless towers. The tower itself has a Timurian (Tamerlane) architecture. The dome part contains a set of repeating geometrical patterns, followed by two sections of caligraphy. The upper part is knotted Kufic calligraphy, it says Mecca ( مکه), the holy city of Islam. Kharkovchanka , code name: Manufacture 404S, is a model of Antarctic off-road vehicle. Based on the AT-T tractor platform (itself based on the T-54 tank). In December 1959 two of them (“21” and “23”) were delivered to Antarctica and reached the South Pole. The massive off-road snow vehicle had a total of a small galley, toilet, oven, and eight beds. Three Kharkovchankas were built in 1958, and shipped to Antarctica. They traversed from the ocean coast to the existing Soviet Vostok Station in February 1959. Two of these, and a third AT-T tractor, left Vostok station for the geographic South Pole in early December 1959, arriving at the pole on 26 December 1959, and surprising the US crew that had been airlifted into the Amundsen–Scott Station the previous summer. The project was developed by the Leningrad State Design Institute №5 in the 80s under the direction of B.E. Sandler for Krasnaya Zarya Plant. In view of the presence of weak soils, the type of foundation was of particular importance. Weight and wind load are transferred to the ground through a box-section foundation supported by 700 piles. The core of the building is the shafts of six elevators, and the structure itself is a reinforced concrete frame with external panels. The low-rise wings of the building are assembled from reinforced concrete columns and beams. The outer walls are finished with expanded clay concrete panels, into which the finishing material, Saarema dolomite, has already been installed at the factory. This is my scene for the Howest DAE diorama assignment. Before starting my studies at DAE I went on a summer trip to Norway and found the nature there, and in particular the forests, to be very inspiring. I tried to capture some of that experience in the foliage and landscaping of the garden. My main goal for this scene was to make it feel like a believable whole while still keeping a strong overall composition. I really tried to push myself on this one so any feedback will always be appreciated. I did my best to convey the forest loner’s story of why he lives where he does. He may be an art thief but I didn’t want to commit any actual art theft myself, so the paintings are just some photographs, mostly from Norway.
