Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture! I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush and polishing my Handpainted skills when its about metal and cloth. But I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting! Decided to go wayyy out of my comfort zone with a fully handpainted model… and I’m pretty happy with it! The process took me much longer than expected, too, but better late then never hah.

It was quite a challenge due to its particular design as well as the subtle hue shift in the concept. It was super interestingand I learned quite a lot from it! I tried my best to make it fit in some kind of Handpainted Diablo-like game! Maybe it could be a dungeon boss !?!
