Though it ended up a bit too polygon-heavy, I am still happy how this turned out. My main difficulty was to render out curvature maps for the rust and scratch effects in Substance painter, but Xnormal does a good enough job after some tweaking around in Substance Painter. This is a model based off of Joe Petagno’s cover art for the 1986 album “Orgasmatron” by Motörhead. Petagno is the original artist behind Motörheads famous boar-like figurehead and the guy behind their album art. He has also created Led Zeppelins famous Icarus character and artwork for many other bands of different genres, even covers for sci-fi books. The Glowglobe is a replica of one of my favourite movie props. These floating lamps produce an incredible mood for some of the most critical scenes in the movie. With limited close ups, it was hard to see some of the finer details— I’d love to know what the original designers think! This is a model based in Venrin’s concept. I started doing this 3D model when it was available on DeviantArt but it’s just on Pinterest now. Some technical things to mention about the model: I forgot about the incapacibility of most of the file formats to store nodes information, so, I had to bake it all to expose the model here The animation has a bug in her left eye, maybe because I animated it all using shape keys in different objects?
