The monument to the Ukrainian poet, writer, artist and thinker Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko is located in the center of Kharkov - in the Shevchenko Garden, at the entrance to the central alley from the side of Sumskaya Street. The total height of the monument is over 16 meters, the statue is 4.5 meters. The goal of the project is to obtain sufficient information for further modeling and study of all details. To solve this problem, we used an RTC360 laser scanner, a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone and a Canon EOS R camera. In the course of the work, laser scanning, photography from a quadrocopter and additional photos were carried out. The next stage was office processing. The second cycle was implemented using Leica Cyclone and Reality Capture programs, which were enclosed in data binding to a coordinate system. The next point was an automatic combination of aligned point clouds and photographs. The Black Pearl ship from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, although it’s not 100% acurrate. I made this model last summer as my first big project, but at that time I didn’t know about Sketchfab. So now, after some UV unwrapping and texturing rework, I uploaded it here. I love the way it looks inside this viewer! I used it for a render long ago (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/eZBgD), which ended with the boat inside a bottle due to my incapability to recreate a decent sea environment. My task was to make the tailor shop which I created to be very poor looking and also included a little sassy drawing of him on the front of the house to show his personality. Then there is a tiny island with some underwear and clothes to dry. I uploaded this model to test how SketchFab renders something like this. The tricky part was figuring out how to get the silver foil on the top lable to be reflective. Got it to work :-) The cream looks like glossy plastic, but it’s a real-time render and gets the point across. I didn’t correctly UV map the underside because my renders were always on a table - so it didn’t matter. So, this is diorama, which i made, inspired by an old russian comic tv series “Calambur”. There was a sketch called “Iron Kaputt” which tells us about a super secret tank crew. The Headquarters forgot about them, and they wandered the desert, without orders. The funny part is, the crew is just a bunch of stupid bums, who can’t even handle a tank like this and aren’t able to repel any attacks by the local rebels.
