Buckie House, Anstruther, Fife, Scotland. Buckie House (also informally known as the Shell House) was built in the late 17th century. In the 1840s the then owner Alex Batchelor extensively decorated the house with seashells, both inside and out. Alex also went on the decorate his own coffin which was also adorned with sea shells which he charged people to see. Restoration work was carried out on the exterior in 1968 and 2010. The house is situated on the corner of Elizabeth Place and High Street West which form part of the main road through Anstruther, this leaves the building and its decoration vulnerable to damage from large vehicles negotiating the corner. Most of the photographs were taken from across the street with a few from the middle of the road when there was no traffic. This started as a personal passion project, to preserve a historical record of the famous Sedlec Ossuary bone church in digital form through photography and photogrammetry. It has turned into an epic journey of discovery and importance, working with the assistance of the Sedlec Ossuary Director, and the Sedlec Roman Catholic Parish of Kutná Hora. This will be the most physically and historically accurate representation of the ossuary ever created, from measurements, blueprints, photoscanning, and historic records. The Sedlec Ossuary is located in the town of Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic, which is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage site. The ossuary was decorated with the bones of over 60,000 humans 150 years ago, in a stunning artistic display that isn’t replicated in any ossuary or catacomb in the world. My entry for Sketchfab Weekly #3: Heart ! When I saw that Sketchfab is hosting weekly challenges, I immediately knew I had to participate since I’m struggling getting projects done and instead work on them for what feels like centuries. For the topic “Heart” I was thinking about some sort of “modern” Cupid and decided to create a new tool instead of the classic bow and arrow. For guns I find the design of revolvers very interesting, so I went with that. My version of Cupid is a highschool girl who works as Cupid as a part-time job and uses this (obviously non-lethal) gun to make people fall in love. Because she is quite young, I chose bright blue and pink colors, decorated the grips with doodles and added hearts in various ways. The scan was done with 75 photos taken at the Getty Villa, using an iPhone SE. Photos processed in Agisoft Metashape. Texture delit using Agisoft Delighter, which unfortunately caused some of the polychromy to be lost. Decimated in Blender, maps baked in marmoset. From the 18th Dynasty onwards, mudbrick pyramids were used to mark the tombs of private individuals. These small structures were topped by a stone pyramidion. Many such pyramidia have survived, and most of them were found in Thebes (at Deir el-Medina) and Saqqara (the burial ground of the city of Memphis). They are typically decorated with solar motifs. On the front of this particular example, the deceased Ptahemwia is depicted standing in adoration. The hieroglyphic text is dedicated to Re-Horakhty and Osiris. Above the deceased, we see the jackal god Anubis. The wife of the deceased and their three children are shown standing in adoration on the right side, with two other women in the back. The left side depicts the gods Re-Horakhty and Osiris.
