The original building can still be found today at Koaigimachi, Maebashi City, Gunma in Japan.

A ship from the ’90s Expanded Universe, the I7 Howlrunner was a small starfighter developed by Incom Corporation (the same manufacturers as the X-wing) for the Empire. Probably best-known from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, I stayed pretty faithful to the design, but made a couple of angles slightly more exciting and a little less boxy.
Out-of-universe, the ship’s design is probably an homage to the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, concepted by Ralph McQuarrie, who also worked on Star Wars’ fighters. Anyone who likes curves should love this one. In some areas there are curves intersecting on more than one axis. It’s definitely one of the more challenging models I’ve worked on so far.
Also for use with VR. The cockpit is modeled inside as well. The glass may obscure it here but it’s there. Needs some dashboard stuffs which I’ll be adding eventually.. if time permits.
I made some changes to the cockpit considering all the curves it seemed wrong to use old square monitors and such. The idea was to match the exterior a bit more than the orginal.
