It is my favourite of his collection “The Meat Show” http://www.markryden.com/paintings/meat/ Recently I had the unique chance of seeing some of Ryden’s best work at an exhibit near me, and meeting the artist himself! All of his work is really special and a very encouraging opportunity to have fun adapting his work to 3D. This little model was made using Blender and Photoshop. The sci-fi space suit was the coolest part to do, I especially love how all the shapes combine together. The baby was rigged then posed last to fit the tummy in its fetal position. I kept the textures high quality 4096, drew out some of the shadows staying true to the paintings style and colours. This project feels like the reimaging of two separate projects I’ve done in the past. Mountain top castle, and lighthouse island. Both projects that at the time I was pleased with, but looking back on I felt weren’t my best. I liked their premises a lot so I went ahead and merged the two together. Thus Castle Island was born! Now for this scene, I did something I don’t often do when It comes to modelling scenes. I purchased pre-existing work. I know! Crazy, but I was having a strange amount of trouble modelling grass, I couldn’t get anything that looked “grass” you know? I found an awesome little collection pack of low poly natural and organic models. Something I do tend to struggle with making so I was in awe that I found something that fit my style and could be a great leg up in terms of things I struggle with. Definitely going to see if I can leverage these assets in the future. So this is a little experiment I’ve been contemplating on, inspired by the food assets in Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy 15. I took photographs of an actual meal I cooked, and spliced them in Substance Painter with a few models I specially built from reference. Nasi Lemak is a traditional Indonesian/Malaysian dish, consisting of spiced rice, coconut milk/shavings, a portion of meat (chicken) and fresh prawns, sometimes accompanied by a fried egg. The hardest part was translating the lighting from Substance Painter to Unreal Engine, and I have recreated it as best as I can here in sketchfab. Super telephoto photogrammetry of a wreck abandoned boat derelict. Pealing chipping off layers of paint. Lots of seaweed and seashells from the lagoon of Venice. Unfortunately I could’t get full coverage because I coun’t get very close to the subject, maybe 20m the closest, I could’t get all the photos I wanted especially from the top. This was one of times I wish I had a drone (not sure if it’s even allowed to fly in that area anyway), so I tried my best with a 400mm lens handheld from any place I could walk around it. I managed anyway to get comfortably 3x8K textures and normals in a relatively low poly model. Maybe if I find the right conditions again (low tide and good light) I could try to reshoot this one, maybe from a boat… stay tuned for a possible reupload. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 99988 polygons.

The Ford Mondeo Mk2 ST200 i made from scratch using blueprints and images for NFS ProStreet Pepega Edition. It was the second car i made for the mod and the most challenging one i had to make. Of course its not perfect, the model had some major changes over time including a whole overhaul of it because some proportions were off in many spots. I tried my best in doing it as accurate as possible and im very happy with the final result. And of course you car drive it and upgrade it in the mod!
