A little remake of my previous project from 2003, the DJ5000. I wanted to see how far I’d come with the tools and my personal skills since then, and I think the results speak for themselves! Of course it helps that this is 44k triangles and utilizes several textures with the average size being 2048x2048, where the original from 2003 had only 445 triangles and a single 512x512 texture! So roughly this is about 100x more detailed than the original project! How far technology has come, and how far will it go further still. Real world scale. Also included is a clean soda can texture set (no condensation drops), and a mask for the record to help you make your own labels, a Mixer emissive texture with all of the level lights lit up, and a gradient mask for the level lights so you drive them with material/code magic. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 47223 polygons.

I created this model based on references from the actual movie props and some amazingly faithful replicas. The geometry is relatively light weight for use in game engines. The counter animation is geometry based, so it can be used dynamically and adressed by code. Complete with 4K PBR textures. My motivation for this piece came from rewatching the Aliens movies. I took this as an opportunity to learn Substance Painter and figure out how to bake maps for a more complex model like this. It’s also always interesting to learn a few things about design in general and about the object you’re researching in specific. When researching references it helped me to find out that parts of this design are based on real life rifles like the “M1A1 Thompson” and the “Spas 12” shotgun. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 7959 polygons.

Hello everyone! This is Gray Fox, the mysterious cyborg ninja from Metal Gear Solid. He wears an exoskeleton and uses his Fox Blade to slice enemies. I mixed up a bit some references to make his cyborg suit, the original concept art from Shinkawa, the first suit from MGS1 and the armor from Metal Gear Rising. This is an old model I made some time ago. Recently I decided to work on it again and try to do some texture work. It was fun since it made me practice with the creation of specular and normal maps, so I think I learned a lot for future projects. Modeled in Maya, normal maps in Zbrush, texturing in Mudbox. I wanted to make a new hellenic thing, but then realised that this may be original Roman design - at least I found no evidence of greek origins of the design. It’s still doric though! This model is based on the sarcophagus of Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus (clearly a roman guy), and here is the fun fact - the inscription on the tablet was once redone, most likely by one of the relatives of Scipio. I took major inspiration from Kiriko(Overwatch) for this mask. A lot of parts on this mask are emissive, tried to make it look as cyberpunk as I could. the pink areas all have a carbon fibre texture because why not. The Japanese characters on the mask is actually from Kirikos ultimate voice line “Unleash the kitsune’s claws”. The ones on the kunai, I had no idea what to write but I found something that said “The weak are meat;The strong eat” it was kinda funny in a cool way so I used it. A sci-fi holographic computer I made that is loosely based off the IBM 5100. Originally created for Second Life, shown here in Metalness PBR. Textured in Quixel Suite and Photoshop, modeled in Blender with the HardOps plugin. The hologram is static for now, it normally has an animation (in other engines) but I am still trying to figure out a good way to have both a smooth interpolated rotation of the rings on the bottom and a hard transition of frames on the main screen (only way I can currently think of is to use the frame-by-frame method here but that would require way too much mesh data for smooth rotation).
