3D model of Ardrossan Castle during the 1st week of the Exploring Castle Hill Excavations of 2019. The model was captured with photos taken on two seperate days and with visitors and diggers milling about but Reality Capture software has filtered much of this noise out and blender was used to edit out any problem area’s.
Exploring Castle Hill is part of a Cultural Heritage and Archaeology Project being led by Northlight Heritage for Garnock Connections. The Project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Environment Scotland. The medieval chess pieces from the Scottish island of Lewis are among our most popular collections. They give us fascinating insights into the international connections of western Scotland and the growing popularity of chess in medieval Europe.
The eleven chess pieces on display in the Museum of Scotland were part of a large hoard buried on Lewis. The hoard contained 93 gaming pieces in total, including at least four chess sets as well as pieces from other games. The chess pieces were probably made in the late 12th or early 13th century in Norway.

The plan was to create the most realistic samurai armor I could in a given time. Hope I succeeded.
