This character model was part of a game project for my final course this spring. This character was the main character in our game “Jeniah”, and she was the one the players played as. Our game project was very inspired by Souls-games like Dark Souls and a little bit of Bloodborne, and so I did my best to try and get the rigth “feeling” for the characters. For this one I had a sketched concept art of the upper-half of the body made by one of my teammates, but I had to edit the shoulderpads to fit the game more, so the ones in this final model are edited. The rest I came up with on my own. I had four days to make this character as well. Base body modeled in Zbrush. Cloth in Marvelous Designer, armour, hairplanes, and retopologization in Maya. Textured in Substance Painter. This is a 3D mesh of a Sling tailed Agama lizard (Stellagama stellio cypriaca) scanned using the Beastcam MACRO on a live lizard in Cyprus. The mass of the lizard is 78 grams. CG artist Jer Bot retopologized and reconstructed the snake in the open source 3D animation software Blender (blender.org). He did this through images captured using an array of six Canon G16 cameras and other reference photos. The construction of this model is part of the post-doc research of Dr. Savvas Zotos (POST-DOC/0916/0034)(https://retrack.terracypria.org) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation. Fat Tailed Gecko 3D Model. Download Fat Tailed Gecko in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
The model used for preview in Sketchfab is not rigged, but the model in the additional files is fully rigged. The additional file contains 2 .Blend files and a .FBX file. The first .Blend is set up and ready for use with Cycles, the 2nd .Blend file is set up for use with a beta build a Blender with Eevee. A complete PBR texture set is included for the body. The mouth, tongue and pupils only use a color map each. I love geckos. Been wanting to do something artistic with one for a long time. For a long time, I was even trying to incorporate a gecko or lizard into my personal branding. Never could figure out something I liked. I was smiling the entire time I was sculpting and retopoing this little dude!
