(I used 20m of italian mesh, 250m of golden threads, about 1400 beads and rings…) The 3D model has been computed from 445 Nikon D5300 DSLR 24 MPx images, aligned in low quality, with medium depth maps and mesh (decimated to 850k polys, with localized smoothing up to 15), and one 4k texture (sorry for the loss of details on the embroideries…). It’s not great, it’s not that bad either… This jacket is a replica of the black paneled uniform worn by military members of the Atlantis expedition in the Sci-Fi show Stargate Atlantis, and this specific version, made of ripstop fabric, is worn by John Sheppard during seasons 2 and 3 of the show. I bought a setup for my microscope to use it as a photogrammetry tool for very small objects. I’m not there yet regarding accuracy, but I am pleased with this first results. The photogrammetry C1 I made by mirroring the half that was completely scanned, and I still miss a lot of details, but the reason for wanting to be able to also make photogrammetry models is that I want to be sure about the overall shape of my models. As you can see, even though most of it is the same, especially the transverse processes (the “wings”) have a slightly different orientation. I need to redo the scan to be sure if I need to remodel the modeled C1. I added another scan made with agisoft with the same set of photos. The scan is totally different somehow, not only in the details but also in the larger features. (and yes, I’m a perfectionist..) Edit: added yet another version with agisoft. Used 514 photos and mirrored one half. It’s getting better, even without image stacking.
