A little remake of my previous project from 2003, the DJ5000. I wanted to see how far I’d come with the tools and my personal skills since then, and I think the results speak for themselves! Of course it helps that this is 44k triangles and utilizes several textures with the average size being 2048x2048, where the original from 2003 had only 445 triangles and a single 512x512 texture! So roughly this is about 100x more detailed than the original project! How far technology has come, and how far will it go further still. Real world scale. Hello everyone! This is Gray Fox, the mysterious cyborg ninja from Metal Gear Solid. He wears an exoskeleton and uses his Fox Blade to slice enemies. I mixed up a bit some references to make his cyborg suit, the original concept art from Shinkawa, the first suit from MGS1 and the armor from Metal Gear Rising. This is an old model I made some time ago. Recently I decided to work on it again and try to do some texture work. It was fun since it made me practice with the creation of specular and normal maps, so I think I learned a lot for future projects. Modeled in Maya, normal maps in Zbrush, texturing in Mudbox. I wanted to make a new hellenic thing, but then realised that this may be original Roman design - at least I found no evidence of greek origins of the design. It’s still doric though! This model is based on the sarcophagus of Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus (clearly a roman guy), and here is the fun fact - the inscription on the tablet was once redone, most likely by one of the relatives of Scipio. So I changed the text a bit with some lines from the movie “Blood & Concrete: A Love Story” - since Romans really loved concrete, which they called opus caementicium. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 34609 polygons.

A sci-fi holographic computer I made that is loosely based off the IBM 5100. Originally created for Second Life, shown here in Metalness PBR. Textured in Quixel Suite and Photoshop, modeled in Blender with the HardOps plugin. The hologram is static for now, it normally has an animation (in other engines) but I am still trying to figure out a good way to have both a smooth interpolated rotation of the rings on the bottom and a hard transition of frames on the main screen (only way I can currently think of is to use the frame-by-frame method here but that would require way too much mesh data for smooth rotation).
