Here’s a challenge I’m doing: modelling a Smash Bros character each day until Smash Ultimate releases. This project started October 2nd. I probably won’t manage to strictly model one per day but I’m eager to see it through.
Anyway, here are the original 12 from Super Smash Bros 64. This is my taking on the original Nintendo characters that debuted in the first entry of the Smash series. They’re all low poly, PBR with a cartoon style. A palette-swapped, F-Zero GX-based 3D model of the Jody Summer trophy (from Super Smash Bros Brawl) to match the colors of my 2001 Volvo S60 (named after Jody Summer):
Red unitard to match Classic Red exterior color,
Charcoal-gray armor to match exterior moldings and interior color,
Black shoulder pads to match facelifted mirrors,
Smoke-gray boots to match gunmetal-gray-painted wheels
Blue gloves remained untouched to match brake caliper color,
Blue badge thingy, which is—coincidentally—near her heart to match the color of the engine covers.
This was an absolute cake walk to finish, and I had too much fun with it! Learned quite a bit about 3D model extensions from this, as well.
