An ancient Egyptian standing figure of the god Bes from the Roman Period (30BC - 395AD) from the collection of Bolton Library and Museum Services. Bes is shown with legs apart, hands on hips and leonine mane and ears. On top of his head is a five plumed headdress.
The figurine was excavated by B.P. Grenfell at Oxyrhynchus and donated to the Bolton Library and Museum Services Collection by the Egypt Exploration Fund.

According to historian Martin Krsek, the aim of the installation is to draw attention to the problematic fate of abandoned German graves in the Czech border region.
