6 months ago I published a model titled Ihrin the Adventurer, made while I was still trying to figure out what she’d be like personality-wise. Through roleplay and further development her personality has manifested very differently from the original expression and vibe I was going for, and I also wasn’t a big fan of the model itself. I wanted to try something in the mid-poly range. History The Mekarski system was a compressed-air propulsion system for trams invented by Louis Mékarski or Louis Mékarsky in the 1870s.The system was promoted as being suitable for use in congested streets and in tunnels, as compressed air produced no smoke or flames, and thus would not disturb horses or fill the carriage with soot and sparks like a steam engine. The system was tested in Paris in 1876 and introduced to the tramways of Nantes in 1879. It seems to have been a success at Nantes with a fleet of 94 trams in 1900. The Mekarski tramcars continued in use there until 1917, when they were replaced by electric trams. Model details Asset was developed while using somewhat limited resources. Petra is an Arabian city in the country of Jordan carved out of the sand-stone mountains in Wadi Araba. It was established over 2000 years ago and was the capital of the Nabataeans. The tombs and structures are now in danger of erosion due to earthquakes, floods and natural weathering and are thus in need of monitoring and documentation.\n\n184 laser scans were captured for this site in 2013.\n\nThe laser scanning survey of Petra, completed by the Zamani Project, is part of the Siq Stability project, which is a “Funds In Trust” project of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for UNESCO. It is managed by the UNESCO Amman Office and has as main partners Italian geological experts from ISPRA (Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research - Geological Survey of Italy), as well as geologists and a surveyor from the Petra National Trust. Custom low poly character made from scratch for a fantasy scene. Influences taken from fantasy art from the 80’s-90s. Tried to keep the outfit rooted in reality while still being purely fantastical. High poly model sculpted in Marvelous Designer and Z-brush, texturing in Substance 3D painter. Rigging and anmimation were done in Maya using Advanced Skeleton, with a Motion Capture base taken using Plask. Tried to keep it as low poly as humanly possible while still making the details stand out.
