This is a tribute to Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)’s most famous artwork, Guernica (1937).
The main reason to do this is to echo Picasso’s antiwar message, which I strongly believe is needed more than ever.
The backside of this artwork I added a few other Picasso’s artworks to advocate peace, however washed out and fragmented it is. The ox, the “sleeping” soldier, and Pegasus are from one of his early Guernica sketches.
The others, most notably his Bouquet of Peace (1958), are sampled from his later works with peace theme.
The only 3 animated elements are the flower, the lamp, and the light bulb. To me the flower symbolizes life, the lamp represents hope, and the light bulb embodies technological destruction. As long as life continues and hope lasts, humanity will goes on.

This is a tribute to the famous Spanish Cubism artist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) and his Fauvism painting Le Rêve (the Dream, 1932), portraying his then 22-year-old mistress Marie-Thérèse Walter (1909-1977).
Realized the organic feminine form in 3D out of abstract 2D shapes, I attempted to add life with a subtle breathing animation, and let her dreams a starry night, away from erotic / phallic fantasies.

This is a tribute to the beloved cartoonist Charles M. Schulz (1922-2000) and his classic comic strip: Peanuts (1950-2000).
The specific strip I chose to model and animated after is from June 22, 1970, where the tiny yellow bird Woodstock was named for the first time by Snoopy.
Another tribute of this one is visual storytelling, which successful comic strips have mastered eons ago. So through animation, it is a challenge to capture and to push visual storytelling on this 3D/VR media platform.
My personal reason to do this is to celebrate the upcoming birthday of my biological big sister Hennessy, and my non-biological big brother Eliot. Although they’ve never met each others, yet they were born on the same day, same year, and both are avid fans of Peanuts.
