Here is a new low poly diorama originally inspired by the fabulous concept of Sephiroth Art. It has been a while in production as after initially building the Golem I left it to come up with an additional storyline. In the end I was inspired by the acts of kindness that have been occuring all over the world recently and the birds nesting in our garden. This lead to showing the gentle side of his character rescueing a chick and trying to return it to the nest. I originally created this modular building pack for use in Second Life using a single 1024 trim sheet. I wanted to see how far I could take the trim sheet with regards to adding more assets then originally planned and continued to build it out into this diorama.
All of the assets in the scene, with the exception of the rain effects, use a single 1024 UV space, including the holograms, which have their scanline effect by making use of uv stretching and the opacity of the trim sheet map.

Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture! I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush and polishing my Handpainted skills when its about metal and cloth. But I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting!
