I had the privilege to work with the super chill and talented teammate, Gabriel Eekenulv, Skyblivion’s Concept Art Lead. Together we produced this grand and regal set of armor. As a historical arms and armor enthusiast, I often time find it difficult to work with many fantasy concept arts. Most designs sacrifice basic understanding and practicality for “cool” aesthetics which make no sense. When I came across Eekenulv’s armor designs, however, I was in awe. His designs are grand, elegant, and “cool”, yet they maintain insights and functionality of armors, a perfect balance between “Realism” and “Suspension of Disbelieve”.
This was one of the most fun project I’ve produced in collaboration with others. Not to mention my Twitch subscribers who took part in submitting poleaxe designs, which eventually developed into the one you see. I’m glad to share my personal project. I had some spare time and decided to practice texturing and modeling and create a model from scratch.
During searching for ideas and gathering references I came to make a off-road vehicle with a powerful suspension. The body resembles the American Ford T and the Soviet GAZ-AA, and the large wheels came from a small tractor. I wanted to create an all-terrain vehicle of a village farmer who loves off-road racing.
