Usually, a thin film comprised of aluminum and phosphate was found to coat such Hematite. The thin films that range from tens to hundreds of nanometers thick are believed to cause the color. Hematite is an iron mineral crystallizing in the rhombohedral system; the most important ore of iron, it is dimorphous with Maghemite, occurs in black metallic-looking crystals, in reniform masses or fibrous aggregates, or in reddish earthy forms. These assets were generated from scans of beach pebbles and stones I picked up on the shore between Plouguerneau and Roscoff, in France. I did not specifically select extraordinary samples, but rather tried to go for a broad diversity of colors and shapes in order to create an interesting pack.
Each prop in this bundle comes with .fbx, .obj and .dae formats, and is available in 5 different resolutions:
LOD0: 15k tris - 4096x4096 textures (albedo and normal maps)
LOD1: 5k tris - 2048x2048 (those are the ones visible here!)
LOD2: 1.5k tris - 1024x1024
