A collection of reprocessed fossils (other free assets here), ready to use as game props, particles or for optimized renderings, but “sadly” not for commercial projects as the original scans are licensed under CC Attribution - NonCommercial.
Each model is made of 1500 triangles, and 1024 pixels albedo and normal maps.
The original scans were first remeshed with mmgs, and decimated, UV unwrapped and baked in blender. Normal maps are ready to use for Unreal Engine, but don’t forget to flip their green channel in Unity!
Most of the original scans are from @Fossils_in_Shropshire and @steinkern, other credits to @yuelands, @LapworthMuseum, @ETMNH, , @conqueror78 and @chkalov_urup.

My first tryout with my new camera (Sony a6500), paired with a Sigma 30mm C lens.
These shoes are relatively ooold :), but they’re special. At that time i was ‘fan’ of the Adidas Goodyear shoes because of the sleek and slim design and their undestructibility. Then Adidas started collaborating with Porsche and came with these (as their first i think?). Now they make for awesome looking worn out shoes.
Took around 300 photos, processed at maximum resolution in Agisoft. PBR materials created in Substance painter. Remeshing done with Instant Meshes.

This archeological site if found next to the port in the island of Aigina southwest of Athens, Greece. 37.750199, 23.423487 The column standing in the center is a part of a temple to Apollo 6 B.C. The site is very interesting since the area was used before as a prehistoric settlement and after as well. Do visit the museum if you have the chance. Please help improve the description. This is a work in progress. The point cloud alone was 4GB. I have 8GB of RAM and my computer crashed constantly. A quick WIP for the Sketchfab’s texturing challenge (no textures yet).
An idea could be to try to display a few interestingly textured lowpoly versions of the statues in a virtual exhibition, revolving around a couple of flat shaded and naive versions of the statues.
The statue remeshing was done from the high resolution scan, separating the hands, head and pubic region with blender and mmgs to keep some details while decimating.
My first baking tests with complex materials went totally wrong though, so here is a WIP with just a roughness map and roughly baked (32 samples) lights from blender.
