There are 8 buttons lining the waist band of the trousers, in sets of four sets of two buttons going across, and there is then 4 buttons going down the front of the trousers which were incredibly stiff to undo and redo. There are two welt pockets either side. The tunic went trhough considerable changes due to the war, removing decorative elements, making it cheaper to produce. A M15 blouse was introduced in 1915 with a simpler design, no visible buttons and no pipping.
