Description: Pommel: wood; oval-shaped; with a deeply incised channel running vertically; the nails are bronze and have possibly been silvered; width pommel c. 72-74 mm; height c. 60 mm. Handle: wood; width c. 32 mm; height c. 85 mm. Cross guard: wood; width c. 76 mm; height c. 46 mm.

Thhe model1907/10 (here, the 1913 Landsturm cut) represented the main tunic of a german foot soldier’s unifrom at the start of the first world war (1914). This version is specific to the Mannschaften, Other Ranks, of the Prussian Army (Buttons and Buckle, red piping everywhere with Brandenburg cuffs). The tunic went trhough considerable changes due to the war, removing decorative elements, making it cheaper to produce. A M15 blouse was introduced in 1915 with a simpler design, no visible buttons and no pipping.

During the construction of the 95-kilometer-long I. Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline, it was decided to construct a gravity pipeline (water runs from a higher starting point to a lower end point) due to the topography and the state of the art at the time (only small pipelines). The valley crossings therefore had to be overcome along the route of the high spring pipeline with 30 aqueducts. There are aqueducts made of brick or stone, depending on the material available at the respective locations.
