3D scan of the argus pheasant pair Argusianus argus. The great argus lives in the rainforests of Borneo, Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula in southeast Asia. They can grow up to 2 meters in length and are therefore among the largest of the pheasant species. This pair lived in the Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna, Austria, and is part of the museum's collection since 1932. The argus pheasant is Number 79 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 31 of the NHM Vienna. Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh. A new version of this model has been uploaded with a more accurate texture. Surface scan of a Galapagos giant tortoise from the D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum at the University of Dundee. Chelonoidis nigra (originally catalogued as Testudo elephantopus) - Galapagos Giant Tortoise. Length = 82cm. Scanned with an Artec Eva surface scanner. The resulting file is exported as an obj. and imported into Zbrush. Texture is added from photographs using the Spotlight function and Polypainting.
