The BRDM-2 (Boyevaya Razvedyvatelnaya Dozornaya Mashina, БоСвая Π Π°Π·Π²Π΅Π΄Ρ‹Π²Π°Ρ‚Π΅Π»ΡŒΠ½Π°Ρ Дозорная Машина, literally “Combat Reconnaissance/Patrol Vehicle”) is an amphibious armoured scout car used by states that were part of the Soviet Union and its allies. The BRDM-2 has a crew of four: a driver, a co-driver, a commander, and a gunner. The BRDM-2 entered service with the Soviet Army in 1962. It was first publicly shown in 1966. It replaced the BRDM-1 in the Soviet and Warsaw Pact armies. Production started in 1962 and went on until 1989, with 7,200 vehicles produced. The BRDM-2 became famous for being the vehicle selected to pull the Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev’s coffin during the funeral ceremony in the Red Square. This little squirrel imp creature is my creation from the second chapter of Zacharias Reinhardt’s excellent scultping for Blender masterclass.
