This house was once belonged to a timber baron in a small Northern California city. But after the logging industry went bust, it’s owner abandoned it to the elements. While not a complete ruin, this house will need a lot of TLC to bring it back to it’s former glory. This house was an experiment for me in tileable materials and seeing how far I could get using nothing but Photoshop for texture creation instead of my usual go to, Substance Painter. Most of these materials started out with a diffuse texture I either photographed myself or found on CGtextures.com. I then created the normal, spec, emmisive, etc in Photoshop. I think this technique works well if you’re going to be putting the model into an engine like Unity or Unreal. The textures hold up at very close and they can be used across many different buildings or props you may have in your game. Also being able to add secondary textures would allow for more variations like grunge. Modeled in Maya 2019 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 80257 polygons.

This is a creation that I originally built in “Stormworks: Build and Rescue” and modified using the mystical powers of Blender. Although I tried my best to clean it up, the nature of exporting models from Stormworks means that it’s still a bit rough in some areas. My model attempts to represent the Glen Sannox as she would’ve appeared in her original 1957 configuration, although I took some artistic liberty and added some extra rust on the hull (because it looks cool?). I originally completed this creation in July of 2020, but I realized that my model wasn’t very accurate when compared to the real ship. With this updated version, I’ve almost completely rebuilt my model to be as accurate to the real thing as possible. It’s still not a perfect replica by any means, but hopefully you guys still like it! 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1105686 polygons.
