A revamp of my Brisbane City Council Scania L94UB CNG [Volgren] intended for use in Transport Fever 2. TpF2 Workshop Item: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2594990377 Trivia: Once typical of Brisbane’s fleet is this Scania L94UB with Volgren CR224L bodywork. The standard Volgren body has been altered in appearance with a normal Scania front. The kite symbol reflects the bus’ green credentials being CNG powered. The G prefix denotes its allocation to the Garden City depot which feeds the busway. Sadly in 2020, the Scania L94UB fleet have been retired from service and replaced by the Volvo B8RLE buses. A 14th century farmer using a heavy plough pulled by oxen. I was approached by BuildersBrew to create a small diorama of a Medieval Farmer ploughing the fields, this was based off of some references provided and is to be used within the immersive mobile app for The Chester House Estate. Conservation with the overall tricount, texture space and alpha usage in the project was important to make sure the model could load well in the application, the texture for the character was 4k for this render however this was reduced to 2k in the application and the overall tricount came in at around 70k for the whole project. The school objective was to create a high quality game ready model in a month (the month being shortened to around 3 weeks due to Christmas break). For the model, I chose to create a medieval knight. The Green Knight, low poly was made in Maya, and high poly was made in zBrush. High res was sculpted in 2 days and low res was finished in around 2 days. The game res model was made using the quad draw tool in Maya and UVs were also cut in the software. When creating the low res, I also split some parts off in order to allow for customization as if the model had different armor sets. The textures were made in 4 days with the help of Substance Painter. I followed UE4 PBR guidelines and did every material as a procedural. I did this using generators, fill layers, etc. I did this to allow for felxiability in the texturing and allow for changes to be made if someone chose to. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 20460 polygons.

A scene I’m making to practice my props and environments modelling/texturing. Setting this scene and props up in Unity. Still WIP, I got all the pieces but I want to make it a level. The Skuldelev ships are a group of five well preserved 11th century ships from the Viking period, found in the Roskilde Fjord in Denmark near the town of Skuldelev. Skuldelev 1 was a large ocean going ship, a trading vessel probably known as a Knarr. From analyzing the wood of the ship archaeologists were able to determine the ship had been built on the west coast of Norway around the 1030’s CE, and so ended it’s life far from where it was built. At some point in its life it had suffered massive damage which left it with a warped keel, and which necessitated significant reconstruction of the hull. This digital recreation is based on the ‘Ottar’, a full scale reconstruction made by the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum. The provision of a tent over the hold is hypothetical.
