In this test I wanted to test how much there is difference when baking normals and AO from much higher polycount mesh. 28 million mesh (A7R IV) vs. 16 million mesh (D5300). Both models have been decimated to 800k meshes. It was a part cloudy day so i used AWB with both cameras. This is an old model from circa 2000ish I made for racing games of that era (PS2). I was curious to see how something I made 20 years ago would hold up in the Sketchfab renderer. I am pretty pleased with the results overall. This model was made before i knew a lot of tricks in modelling, such as using billboards to do details like badges. There was no normal mapping back then either… I had always loved this car, I still do. This project almost makes me want to remake this model a bit more hirez. The project of the shipyard was an incredible task: to create an interactive project that displays the work of all the workshops and mechanisms of the factory and at the same time it had to be mobile. Our team has found a unique solution that has no analogues in the world: a scalable object with all of its processes was visualized by us and also animated and filled with necessary information by creating 3D-models and using the application of augmented reality. This project allows not only to explore the internal territory in daytime or night enviroment, but also to study in detail all of the processes from within, from cutting metal plates to the production of finished vessels and allows to study the detailed information about all of the processes as well. The project was created by us based on the project documentation for demonstration the model of the shipyard to customers in different countries.
