A crystal-powered floating castle. There be demons inside. Pink demons. I was aiming for a Warcraft look (as in Frozen Throne, not necessarily WoW) with limited resolution hand painted textures. Glow FX were originally done as billboard planes, flickering was achieved by randomly rescaling them; the little bat and moving candle flames were animated by shifting UV - as these techniques are currently unavailable on Sketchfab I edited them out and left a static model with no billboard tracking. This is a 3D scan of a cockroach I bought on etsy. It’s part of a larger project where I combined 3D modeled assets with photogrammetry (see http://whatswrongwithwhite.tumblr.com/image/177884973392 ). I used a lot of custom photo equipment (macro lens, polarization filters, extension tubes and a 3D printed cockroach holder from shapeways). For cleanup I used blender (cleaning up holes, chopping up into body parts, modeling deatils). For the final material design and export Substance Painter did a great job. In the 1950s, LeTourneau Inc. developed several overland trains, essentially oversized semi-trailer trucks that could travel over almost any terrain. Their intention was to be able to handle logistics needs without being dependent on local road or rail systems, allowing them to operate in back-country areas. The US Army had three experimental units built, the largest reaching almost 600 feet (183 m) long, which holds the record for the longest off-road vehicle. The Mark II had a much larger six-wheeled cab that was over 30 feet (9.1 m). The turbine engine was much smaller than the diesel it replaced, allowing the interior to support a crew of six with sleeping quarters, toilets and a galley. It was even equipped with a radar. An additional two power cars and ten cargo cars were built for testing. An update of my old low poly TIE fighter model, with windows cut in and a low poly interior, complete with pilot, added- adds a ton of depth and realism. None of it is meant to hold up in closeups, but it looks great from afar. The whole thing is ~5.5k tris, so if you want a hangar full or a fleet of them, it won’t slow down your scene. Perfect for all your imperial needs! PBR textures made in Substance Painter. The exterior is 2k, the interior is 1k, the pilot is 512x512. Cutting in the windows a couple years after the outside model was done made for some very messy topology around them, but the overall ship is still low poly enough, and no one will notice. The glass is also currently single-sided, just to be more performant than trying to have glass with thickness and refraction. If you are using them as distant background models you can also make the glass opaque and delete the interior for more savings. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 5502 polygons.
