A colorful Black Lives Matters mural on East Pine Street, Seattle, described by one onlooker as a “masterpiece”, was completed by anti-racism protesters on June 11, 2020.

The work was carried out by protesters in an area of the city they have occupied and dubbed the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). Police have left the area to the protesters, but were still responding to 911 calls there, and seeking to establish dialogue with the protest leaders, the Seattle Times said.
Local photographer Kyle Kotajarvi captured the completed mural using a drone before posting the footage on Twitter. In a thread accompanying the footage, he said, “A masterpiece was created in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone today.”

Today, I organised a 3D scanning workshop at ESSEC Business School. A brand new Knowledge Lab has been inaugurated a few months ago. It is a fab-lab for scientific and pedagogical innovation. Workshops on many different topics are organised on a regular basis, and today was about 3D scanning!
Now a few students know how to take good pictures with no shades, good lighting, and from any angle ; how to use Recap360 or Memento to turn those pictures into a 3D model ; how to enhance its mesh on Meshlab ; how to publish it on Sketchfab, edit it with the 3D Settings, publish it anywhere online, and enjoy it in VR straight from their cardboard!
Here was the object we used for the workshop, a set of coasters that look like tennis rackets. Well, we are not particularly fans of tennis in my family, even if we watch Roland-Garros as every French dudes do, so I have actually no idea why we have that at home. Yes, this was a hell of a scan… it look me 10-15 minutes to walk the entire street. Shootout to @polycam app (@cpheinrich), that handled the capture from the beginning to the end of this 560 ft long scan (170 m.)!

Clarion Alley is a small street in SF between Mission and Valencia Streets, notable for its world renowned murals. To me it’s the Street Arts Mecca, and it tell so much about the history of SF past decades, its mystical bohemian tradition, the challenges faced by its communities, and much more.
