The process consists of modelling a low poly version, from which a copy is made with a very high dense mesh where details are sculpted in, later baked onto its low poly counterpart.
This is arguably one of the first big challenges that I came across in my contributions to the mod, for one simple reason: as a beginner I still did not know how to have more than 1 texture in one single model. With this project I tried to experiment a new workflow. I created my own alphas in maya to create a new brush in Zbrush. It allowed me to put a lot of small details on my helmet. I still wanted to retopo my model in order for it to be real time rendered. The final lowpoly model has exactly 20K tris, and has a single 2K textures
