From the “Human Evolution Gallery" at the Natural History Museum in London. “The first set of remains to have been found, LB1, was chosen as the type specimen for the proposed species. LB1 is a fairly complete skeleton, including a nearly complete cranium (skull), determined to be that of a 30-year-old female. LB1 has been nicknamed the Little Lady of Flores or ‘Flo'." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_floresiensis I admit that I forgot to take a picture of the object label for this scan but I am failry sure I've identified it correctly based on these images 1 2 Created in RealityCapture by Capturing Reality from 129 images in 00h:12m:11s 3D Model is ready to download for free

3D scan of an Arrau turtle (Podocnemis expansa). This specimen is an example for early taxidermy. This turtle was caught in 1832 on the banks of the Rio Solimões during an Austrian expedition in Brazil. It came to the NHM Vienna in 1834 and is one of a few found specimens of this rare species. Arrau turtles live in the wetland areas of South America and are among the largest freshwater turtles in the world.
The Arrau turtle is Number 73 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 28 of the NHM Vienna.

3D scan of a primeval dwarf horse (Eurohippus messelensis) fossil from Messel, which is todays Darmstadt, Germany. Fossils from this area are extraordinarily good preserved. That is because 47 million years ago there was a tropical forest around Lake Messel, and on its floor the oxygen-deprived environment prevented decomposition of the corpses that sunk into the lake.
This primeval dwarf horse of Messel is Number 28 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 9 in Showcase 68 at the NHM Vienna.
Specimen: Eurohippus messelensis (Haupt, 1925)

3D scan of the southern elephant seal, Mirounga leoninae. This specimen is from the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean and became part of the collection of the NHM Vienna in 1901. Very few museums own a specimen this large, even fewer have one that is more than 100-years-old!
The southern elephant seal is Number 86 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 34 of the NHM Vienna next to Steller’s sea cow.

3D scan of a fossilized primitive bird, the extinct Confuciusornis sanctus dated 125 million years ago and found in the Liaoning province, China. The lagerstätte in China is an El Dorado for paleontologists and evolutionary biologists: more than 1000 specimens of Confuciusornis were found there. These findings provide valuable information on the evolution of birds.

3D scan of a trumpeter swan (Cygnus buccinator), which is the largest native water bird in Northern America and has been widespread there. These birds are around 1.5 meters long, with a wingspan of more than 2 meters. Trumpeter swans got their vernacular name due to their trumpet-like calls. This also reflects the scientific species name derived from “buccinare” – to trumpet.
The exhibited specimen originates from the Tiergarten Nürnberg and came to the NHM Vienna in 1978.
This trumpeter swan can be found in Hall 30 of the Natural History Museum Vienna.

Last summer I went to Universal Studios in Orlando with my best friend. It was great fun—the Harry Potter stuff was super cool and I managed to win a Simpsons-themed cat hat in one of the carnival games (that’s a 3D model for another time). Since all Minions-related movies are (no-longer-secretly) some of my favorites, I couldn’t leave without this guy. He and his teddy bear keep me company on my desk as I work. :D

Download King Gustav Vasas Helmet with a Gilt Crown in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
The helmet was fashioned in southern Germany circa 1540, and is unusual because it is one of the few surviving helmets adorned with a crown.
It was purchased in Augsburg on the King’s behalf by his agent, the merchant Claus Heijder. The helmet was likely used in Gustav Vasa’s funeral procession in 1560, because a helmet adorned with a gilded crown is mentioned by a contemporary who witnessed the ceremony. The gilded crown is medieval in style – a suitable symbol of Gustav Vasa, who had one foot in the old union and one in the newly minted hereditary monarchy 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1000000 polygons.
