The alewife has been brewing ale for the household as they prepare for Sir Eustace and Lady Agnes’s return to Caerlaverock. Her ale is made using barley she bought from the monks at Sweetheart Abbey. She talks about Sweetheart and Lady Devorgilla and eludes to how it was named. The alewife would brew and sell ale to the community. The quality of water at the time was so poor that it meant that ale was a safer bet to drink. As the ale went sour very quickly, the alewife would be continually brewing fresh batches to keep her customers happy. This meant that it was a way for women to add additional income to a household. The Baroness’ antechamber and bedroom, are both decorated and furnished in Gustavian style with some details of an older character Rococo style. The antechamber table is signed by Lars Nordin and the hammer piano by Pehr Lindholm, both in Stockholm.
In the bedchamber, the main object is a pull-out bed with curtains of printed linen fabric (reprint after original in Stockholm Castle). The bed is painted in a reddish-brown color, which apparently wants to give the illusion of mahogany. On the cloth-covered dressing table, which is a reconstruction with the guidance of contemporary, cans and bottles of paintings typical of the time, stand in front of a simple mirror from 1794.

This picanto is based on a scan of my mum’s little 2011 kia picanto, her’s is black but it doesnt look that good in black neither irl nor here… Its a 2011 model year, on EX3 trim which it doesnt say anywhere but in its registration, features a quite anemic 1.0 litre 4 cylinder engine with 3 valve per cylinder, 12 valve in total, which develops a racecar-worthy 65hp (wow). It is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow but very fun to drive and can do highway speeds (but just about) and if you and your family are not fat 5*** people in it. The trunk, however is pityful, cant even fit its own spare if it doesnt go in its designed well. It has amazing turn radius, light and zippy steering and very responsive suspension, aswell as a very good gear shifter, feels really good but its a shame its all paired with a handheld powerdrill for an engine.
