It was designed and manufactured by Avro as a contemporary of the Handley Page Halifax, both bombers having been developed to the same specification, as well as the Short Stirling, all three aircraft being four-engined heavy bombers adopted by the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the same wartime era. It first saw service with RAF Bomber Command in 1942 and as the strategic bombing offensive over Europe gathered momentum, it was the main aircraft for the night-time bombing campaigns that followed. It’s been a while since I last posted a 3D model, and the reason is simple, I’ve been mostly drawing in my free time. So I looked for a way to share thoses as an interesting 3D pieces on Sketchfab.
And so here’s what I came out with: Some kind of Virtual Workshop with a lot of textures !
I tried to make it as light as possible while keeping the quality decent, don’t forget to check “HD textures” if you can.
There are drawings of all kinds compiled in there, some are design, some are studies most are random doodles to unwind at the end of the day. This isn’t meant to be a “best of”, a lot thing wouldn’t have made the cut, the idea is more of a dusty attic where you find old stuff you stored long ago to forget about !
