The last character of my Oxymoron Project
This is a personal project I named Oxymoron Project. It consists of three main character which are contradictory. The project started when I heard by the very first time the meaning of oxymoron, a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction. The first concept was only on my head 8 years ago,and now they are in 3D. The first oxymoron example was cold fire and that’s how I imagined a cute flame character with cold. I had the privilege to work with the super chill and talented teammate, Gabriel Eekenulv, Skyblivion’s Concept Art Lead. Together we produced this grand and regal set of armor. As a historical arms and armor enthusiast, I often time find it difficult to work with many fantasy concept arts. Most designs sacrifice basic understanding and practicality for “cool” aesthetics which make no sense. When I came across Eekenulv’s armor designs, however, I was in awe. His designs are grand, elegant, and “cool”, yet they maintain insights and functionality of armors, a perfect balance between “Realism” and “Suspension of Disbelieve”.
This was one of the most fun project I’ve produced in collaboration with others. Not to mention my Twitch subscribers who took part in submitting poleaxe designs, which eventually developed into the one you see.
