Spain’s Altamira Cave is known for some of the most pristine examples of Paleolithic cave paintings, pictographs and petroglyphs. This sculpture is the cenotaph (and empty tomb) of Francisco Moltó Valor who was the mayor of the city of Alcoy (Spain) in the year 1876 and an important businessman.
The sculptor was Lorenzo Ridaura (1871-1963) when he was only 27 years old. The work represents the three theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity.
