As in the case of our moon, WASP-76b always shows the same face to its star because it rotates exactly once every time it orbits around its star (its rate of spin is synchronized with its rate of revolution). My daughter found a dead hornet (Vespa crabro) body in our warehouse, and I decided to give this scan a try.
A couple of years ago, hornets made a nest in our yard, and it was pretty much impossible to walk around and not bump your head into one of these.
In terms of scans, the wings are the hardest parts, I’ve remodelled parts of them in Blender, but the work is far from finished.
I’m impressed with what Metashape did with the scanned material.
