Hebe, statue in marble, after the original model from 1816 (A874), Thorvaldsen museum (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with Memento Beta (now Remake) from Autodesk. It is the duty of the goddess of youth, Hebe, to pour the elexir of immortality for the other gods. These are some very precious drops that she has been assigned to administer and distribute, and so Hebe is clearly concentratin on her work. She is also completely calm - the folds in her dress are almost as regular as the fluting on an acient column. However, the myth reveals that things eventually went awry: Hebe did end up spilling the elixir, and was taken off the job. The Artemision Bronze (often called the God from the Sea) is an ancient Greek sculpture that was recovered from the sea off Cape Artemision, in northern Euboea, Greece. According to most scholars, the bronze represents Zeus, the thunder-god and king of gods, though it has also been suggested it might represent Poseidon. The statue is slightly over lifesize at 209 cm, and would have held either a thunderbolt, if Zeus, or a trident if Poseidon. The empty eye-sockets were originally inset, probably with bone, as well as the eyebrows (with silver), the lips, and the nipples (with copper). The sculptor is unknown. The statue is a highlight of the collections in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.

Eeey, I participated in the challenge :D It was quite fun to make. I thought of this idea that what if Athena in her fury, wanted Arachne to suffer as much as possible and instead of instantly transforming her into a spider, took her sweet time and tortured Arachne by slowly corrupting her entire body and turning it into something hideous.
I tried to go for a bit different palette ( fantasy exotic-like spiders) than what you would expect from the usual spiders, to see how that would turn out. It was really fun!
