A pillbox and anti-tank blocks which formed part of the Innes Links Coastal Defences, a scheduled monument in Moray that ran from Lossiemouth to kingston. The coastal defences were built and used from 1941-42 to stop any possible German invasion though after the Battle of Britain the fear of invasion was greatly reduced and they were abandoned. From west to east they are: (a) chapel of Nitocris (Psamtik I); (b) Amenirdis (Shabako or Shabataka); (c) and (d) unattributed; (e) Karomama (Takelot II); (f) reign of Taharka. These chapels may not have been included in the precinct until the girdle wall was built under Nectanebo I and II, as there are other chapels of the same type outside of the precinc

One of a couple of coils of worn continuous track, from some variant of the US Sherman tank. The earliest continuous track was patented in 1846 as an aid for steam powered traction engines, and was used on gun carriages in the Crimean War. The propulsion system gained popularity at the turn of the century, particularly under the Caterpiller Tractor Company, and was swiftly adopted by armoured fighting vehicles alongside the invention of the tank in the First World War.
Based on photographs, I believe this section to be from a late model Sherman, possibly even the M-50 ‘Super’ Sherman variant used by Israel from the 1950’s. The split-section, steel exterior plates don’t seem to appear on earlier models or in European theatres, but let me know if you’re a tank nerd and I’ve got that wrong.
A great object to model. 209 images taken with a Huawei phone with Leica lens and attached polarising filter, processed in Metashape, Meshlab and Blender.
