This statue was commissioned by the French government after the defeat of the country in the 1870 Franco-Prussian War. It is the only public commission of the state from 1870 to 1914, called the Golden Age of statuary in Paris, the other statues were funded by private subscriptions. The sculptor took as his model Aimée Girod (1856–1937), a young woman from Domrémy, Joan of Arc's village in Lorraine. The monument was classified as a historic monument on March 31, 1992. Tang and Five Dynasties
Unearthed from the underground palace of Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou in 2001, it is 68 cm high. The Buddha statue has a high meat bun, spiral hair, slender eyebrows, ears hanging down the shoulders, and three silkworm patterns on the neck. Wearing a double-collared hanging cassock, the hem is covered with a lotus seat. Inside is a monk’s branch, and a silk belt is tied in front of the chest. The left hand caresses the knee, the right hand casts the Dharma seal, and sits on the lotus platform in knotted lotus. Under the lotus pedestal, there are Panlong columns, double-layer Xumizuo and square beds. The coiled dragon goes up around the column, holding up the lotus seat, and the column is embedded in the Xumi seat. There are two flame-style pot doors on each side of Xumizuo. 豐田神社大正四年（1915）鎮座，屬無格社，為豐田移民村的日人在臺灣安身立命的信仰倚靠。戰後神社被改建為碧莲寺，目前尚存鳥居、狛犬及石燈籠等遺跡。此對狛犬位於寺前，身驅刻有渦漩紋，台座處有「野口佐次郎 小松口太郎奉納 昭和二年十月二十五日」款。在造型上，匠師順著芯棒塑形，自後腦勺沿著背脊塑出一道優美的弧線，前端以筆直細長的前肢作為支應，未端則以豎立的尾鬃平衡了頭重腳輕的情況，在單純精簡中透出形的美感。如後肢不多作骨路肌肉的描寫，與服貼的鬃毛同匯融於渾暢簡潔的軀體；而前肢肘部僅以一横線劃分，即巧妙地打破視覺的單調冗長，卻又不至擾亂整體的協調，誠為一簡中寓繁的難得逸品。

After the First World War, the activities of the Association for the Construction of Jan Žižka’s Monument in Žižkov were renewed. As early as June 1920 the cornerstone was laid in the presence of President T. G. Masaryk.
The monument was eventually commissioned in 1931 from sculptor Bohumil Kafka, a professor at Prague’s Academy of Visual Arts, outside the tender. The sculpture was intended to be monumental and realistic. It took Kafka ten years to complete the sculpture, and an advisory board of nine people was established to supervise his work, consisting of specialists, historians and hippologists. For this job, Bohumil Kafka had a new studio built in Ořechovka, Prague, 27m high and 18m wide.
