Porta Sempione (“Simplon Gate”) is a city gate of Milan marked by a landmark triumphal arch called Arco della Pace (“Arch of Peace”), dating back to the 19th century, although its origins can be traced back to a gate of the Roman walls of Milan. The equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius is a larger-than-life bronze statue of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Its original site is unknown, but it may have been part of a triumphal arch on whose attic it stood. According to medieval sources, a small barbarian figure kneeling in front of a horse was part of the statue. The dating of the statue, which was originally completely gilded, is disputed and fluctuates between the years around 165 AD with a reference to the triumph over the Parthians in 166 AD, the 170s with a reference to the Marcomannic Wars and a dating only to the time of Commodus’ autocratic rule from 180 AD onwards.
A cast stands in the city of Tulln an der Donau. The statue is intended as a reminder of the centuries-long presence of the Romans on the Danube border.

Monumental staffage building on the grounds of the Lednice-Valtice UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape in the Czech Republic. The Reisten Colonnade near Valtice Castle stands on the highest hill of the cultural landscape. The building is a combination of a triumphal arch in the center and colonnades arranged on the sides. In the corner pavilions spiral staircases lead to the roof terrace.
It was built under Prince Johann I Joseph of Liechtenstein in memory of his father Prince Franz Josef I of Liechtenstein and his brothers Prince Alois I of Liechtenstein and Philip Josef.
The Reisten Colonnade was begun by Joseph Hardtmuth from 1810 to 1817, and continued under Joseph Kornhäusel in 1813. Joseph Klieber worked on the building decoration until 1823.
